PROJECT LOG : M-Gridx1
Goal: 29-01-2026
Generate non-repetitive architectural structures
using procedural logic + real-time structural checks.
[1] MODULE GENERATION (KIT OF PARTS)
– Start with a cube
– Select random subsets of its edges
– Remove disconnected / flat configurations
– Eliminate duplicates using rotation matching
(all 24 cube orientations)
Result:
– A library of unique, edge-based spatial modules
[2] AGGREGATION
– 3D grid
– Density-controlled random filling
– Seeded randomness for repeatability
– Brep-based voids (negative constraints)
– Optional 90° Z-rotations for variation
[3] TOPOLOGY CLEANING
Problem:
– Duplicate edges
– Floating clusters
Solution:
– Weld coincident nodes (tolerance-based)
– Detect ground nodes (Z = 0)
– Graph traversal from ground
– Remove unreachable elements
Result:
– Continuous load paths
– No flying geometry
[4] STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS
– Convert curves → elements
– Fixed ground supports
– Self-weight (gravity load)
– First-order analysis
Rule:
– If displacement > threshold > reject
[x] OUTCOME
Form, randomness, and structure negotiate in real time.
Next:
– Fabrication logic
– Skinning / habitable surfaces
– Implement ai to analyze data and generate the whole structure.
